Visitors
A sign-in app built for the gangway,
not the front desk.
Plenty of vessels run an office visitor app at the gangway. It signs people in and out, and that is where it stops. The gangway asks more of it.
What a lobby never has to think about.
An office app checks people in. A vessel checks people in under the ISPS Code, and the check-in has to carry that.
The result is the record port state control asks for: visitor, came in, left, searched by, and both signatures, exported as a PDF. ISPS visitor log requirements
Still fifteen seconds at the door.
None of that slows the queue. The check-in is built for a yard period, which puts more people over the gangway in a week than a season of guests.
The sign-in is the first feature, not the only one.
The same iPad runs the crew board, and the muster drill is called from who is actually aboard. An office app cannot follow you there.
Try it at your gangway.
Visitor check-in is on every plan, on the iPads you already have.
