Rest hours, and
the rest of it.

WorkRest is crew administration: hours of rest, leave, scheduling, the crew list. The Muster App keeps the same work and rest record, and the muster list, the drills and the gangway alongside it.

Two ways to keep the same record.

What it coversWorkRest is built around crew administration. The Muster App is built around what the vessel has to prove: the rest record, the muster list, the drills, and everyone who comes up the passerelle.
What it costsThere is no price on the WorkRest site. The Muster App’s price is on the pricing page, and the 14-day trial starts without speaking to anyone.
Where the day gets loggedCrew log rest on their own phones. The rules run on the phone itself, so a crew member logs the day and sees the verdict with no connection at all.
What a breach looks likeCross a limit and the rule is named on the spot. The day cannot be saved until a comment explains it, and the crew member, their Head of Department and the Captain settle it in one thread.

Checked against MLC 2006 as it is entered.

10 hours in any 24

Checked against every 24-hour window the day’s work opens or completes, not just the midnight-to-midnight day.

77 hours in any 7 days

A rolling week, looking back from each day’s work. Leave days credit a full 24 hours of rest.

The two-period rule

One block of at least six hours, and no continuous run of work over 14 hours between rests. Breaks of an hour or less count as work.

Every logged day comes back rested, borderline or non-conformity, and the signed month prints as the Record of Hours of Work and Rest. The rules are set out in the rest-hours guides, and you can check a day on the rest hours calculator.

The rest hours are one tab.

A vessel keeping rest hours still has drills to run, a muster list to keep current, and visitors coming up the passerelle. Those are in the same app, on the iPads already aboard.

Muster and drills

The muster list with station, role and equipment per crew member, and every drill recorded as it runs.

The gangway

Visitors and contractors signed in at the passerelle, and the log kept for as long as you need it.

Checklists and policies

Inspections completed on the phone or the iPad, and standing orders read and signed by the crew.
